Meditation, Stillness WithinMeditation is a powerful jewel for self discovery in your spiritual jewel box. It is the first step in your spiritual quest for God consciousness. Through simple meditation techniques you can learn to get centered and let go of your thoughts and worries. In doing so you tap into your own spirit, your own energy and awareness of your divine self.

Meditation is listening to God, whereas praying is talking to God. As you reach the place of inner peace you access the wisdom within you which is your intuition. You honor your spirit through this process of going within and experiencing your own nature.

This inner voice of your higher power that you reach through meditation always guides you to your highest and best potential. Trust it and allow yourself to guided by it’s truth. Our job is to listen to the still small voice, then follow it’s direction in the moment. This takes faith and trust in God.

Your Inner Lamp

Each time you go into meditation you add a drop of oil to your inner lamp.  One drop alone is hardly noticeable. Consistently meditating over time enriches your life as it fills your inner lamp to brim with oil.

The more you meditate and fill your inner lamp the less your thoughts control you. Instead you develop a relationship with the master within, your Higher Power.

Then as you face life’s challenges you know that you are not alone. The universe is here to assist you in resolving problems and changing your perceptions.

Your inner lamp lights the way to the awareness of your true nature. It is the seat of your empowerment as a spiritual being. You feel your own energy of your authentic self.

Innate gifts within reveal themselves to you in the moment. Your world opens up to you with unlimited possibilities.

Meditation, Stillness Within

Your Sacred Space

First find your sacred space, a quiet place without distractions for your meditation.

A room designated for this purpose would be ideal. A portion of a room would also work well for you.  Just keep it simple.

When you find your sacred space turn off the phones so that there are no distractions. Let loved ones know that this is your sitting time and you are not to be disturbed for about twenty minutes.

You can meditate in the morning or evening.  This is about your commitment to your own well being on your spiritual path so make it happen.

Next find a cushion or chair to sit on comfortably in your sacred space. Try different cushions and chairs and see what feels good to you.

It is important for your body to relax so that you can let go and focus. If your body is uncomfortable you will be distracted. Simple stretches help to prepare your body for sitting during your session.

Focus on Your Breath

Focus on your breath as you bring your awareness within youself. Take three cleansing breaths nice and slowly, in and out. Keep your mind on your breathagain and again.

As your mind becomes activated bring your thoughts back to the moment, relaxing into each breath.

Focus on your breath and pay attention to the spaces between breaths. All you have is this moment and your breath. Continue this process for about twenty minutes each day and reap the many benefits of meditation.

As you focus on your breath remember that the breath is life, the life of the Divine within you. Feel yourself channeling the light and life of spirit with each breath. Bring this energy to the places inside you that need healing. You are a Divine being of love and light.

You are Spirit

Remember who you are. You are Spirit. Love is your essence as you are love made manifest in flesh. You are not your body, not your mind, not your emotions.

You are Spirit for the Source of all truth dwells within you. It is through meditation in silence that you experience who you truly are, Divinity itself. As you grow in love with yourself, God and the world so does your consciousness of the oneness with all living things.
