Adding Humor to Our Life

Dear friend,

Adding humor to our life is a wonderful way to bring in more balance. Seeing the amusement in even the most challenging aspects of life lifts our spirits.

Having a change in perception is the result of adding humor to our life. Instead of seeing the glass as half empty we see the glass as half full. This has a positive ripple effect in other areas of our life.

Growing up as the youngest and only girl with 4 brothers in a lower middle income family in the Bronx was not easy. Gang wars took place at night in our neighborhood. My brothers were consistently adding humor to our lifeby cracking jokes about everything.

Laughter is what got our family through the hard times. From their humor I learned to not take myself too seriously and to look at the brighter side of life. That is why I felt uplifted being around my brothers. Now I continue to focus onadding humor to our life at home with my husband and with our adult children.

In preparing for this article I came across these funny prayers. Hope you find them humorous, too. Enjoy!

So far today, I’ve done OK. I haven’t gossiped, or lost my temper. I haven’t been greedy, crabby, mean, nasty, selfish, bitchy or overindulgent.
