In honor of Gypsy Wolf Cantina closing it’s doors I am re-publishing my article that I wrote a few years back. It’s so hard to believe that our favorite restaurant has closed. Thank you for nurturing our bodies and spirits all these years. You will be missed!
Feed the Sacred Feminine at Gypsy Wolf in Woodstock, NY by eating delicious Mexican food with friends. My soul sisters and I have been going to this funky restaurant since it first opened in 1990.
Frozen margaritas, chips and salsa, black bean soup and grilled chicken salad are a few of the delicious items on the menu that have been consistently fresh and yummy all these years.
When I feed the Sacred Feminine it is not just food that I am talking about. It’s about nurturing your spirit in a warm, fun, loving environment that helps you to feel relaxed and nurtured as you enjoy time with friends.
Of course the frozen margaritas helps the body relax and lift the spirit as the daily challenges fade away. The multi-colored lights, masks, paintings and wolves make the atmosphere light hearted and festive.
By the end of the evening when I feed the Sacred Feminine I am balanced in body, mind, emotion and spirit. We have taken turns sharing our feelings and receiving the emotional support that we need.
As intense as the soul sisters’ conversations can be, they are interspersed with hearty laughter as well. Quite often the staff join us in celebration of life, friends, community through food and drink like our anscestors have done before us.

Nurture the Sacred Feminine
Women have been gathering together on a regular basis for generations in order to nurture the Sacred Feminine within. We serve as witness, sounding board, counselor, sex therapist, child psychologist, coach and cheer leader for one another.
We nurture the Sacred Feminine for each other. Whether we are grieving the loss of a child, lover, job or our youth our soul sisters stand by us with love and compassion. Never judging, always embracing each other, our sisters are our rocks who support our emotional healing.
Ideally we nurture the Sacred Feminine within ourselves. When we are challenged our friends are there to carry us until we get back on our own feet again.
We feed the Sacred Feminine by nurturing the body, mind, emotions and spirit with food, drink, laughter and tears which is an act of self love. My favorite place to connect with my soul sisters is at Gypsy Wolf in Woodstock, NY where the atmosphere and the staff supports our intention. Try it, you’ll love it!!
