Divine Creating – Free College Education

In 1971 I got married right after graduating from high school. After working at various jobs including retail, house cleaning and nanny jobs for two years I was ready to go back to school.

How could we afford it with our meager incomes and an apartment and other living expenses to pay for? Determined to improve my life through education was my intention in spite of not knowing the details of how I was going to accomplish my goal.

How grateful I was to go toBronx Community College for free! Grass, trees and flowers surrounded me as I walked to my classes in the park-like setting. It felt so abundant, like attending a private college with well-kept acreage. This was truly a gift!
Bronx Community College, part of City University of New York, was just moving to NYU campus just a few blocks away from where I lived with my new husband. CUNY was about to start an experiment providing free community college education starting in September 1973.
Paying the $35 registration fee and paying for the cost of books were the only expenses I had for school. Registering for 10 credits and working part time to pay my half of our living expenses helped me to keep a balanced schedule. This was the Divine creating with me and for me organically.
At Bronx Community College I excelled in all of my classes. I was on the Dean’s List for the three years that I attended the college thanks to the excellent professors there and my readiness for school. My classes were from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Monday through Friday. I eventually landed a job across the street at University Heights Day CareCenter for the after-school program. This was so convenient and helped me to pay for my share of the living expenses at home.

Affirmation: “I am going back to school.”

I remember saying the affirmation “I am going back to school.” When friends and family asked for more details I would say that I didn’t know how.

Although I didn’t know the details of how I was going to be able to do it, I didn’t let that stop me. I kept using the affirmation: “I am going back to school.”

All I knew was that “I am going back to school.” The universe took care of the details and all I had to do was to keep showing up, affirming my truth, and be open to receiving.

Gratitude

Divine Creating is available to each of us. Stay focused on the intention of what you want the universe to magnetize to you. Use gratitude and affirmations, positive statements of truth, to keep your thoughts focused on the goal.

Gratitude for the Divine creating through me was so sweet and palpable.Even now I feel it and I am still so thankfulto the universe for manifesting a wonderful free college education.
