Lumina Dei Newsletter July 2011
Dear friends,
Before I write a newsletter or an article I pray to the Divine for inspiration through my intuition. As I was preparing to write this month’s newsletter I kept hearing the words of an old Beatle’s song.
My writing session kept getting interrupted and each time I went back to writing the newsletter I heard the same words. Deciding to follow my intuition for the content of this article I began with the words that I heard from the following song:
Mother Mary’s Words of Wisdom
“When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.” The Beatles (Lennon/McCartney) from the album “Let it Be.”
Mother Mary
At first I thought that Paul McCartney was talking about the Blessed Mother Mary.
My experience of the Blessed Mother Mary is that she is the great comforter with her unconditional love and compassion for all of us, her children on earth.
Then I found the following quote by Paul about his inspiration for the song. His Mother Mary refers to his biological mom whose name was Mary.
PAUL circa-1994: “One night during this tense time I had a dream I saw my mum, who’d been dead ten years or so. And it was great to see her because that’s a wonderful thing about dreams, you actually are reunited with that person for a second… In the dream she said, ‘It’ll be alright.’ I’m not sure if she used the words ‘Let it be’ but that was the gist of her advice, it was ‘Don’t worry too much, it will turn out okay.’ It was such a sweet dream I woke up thinking, ‘Oh, it was really great to visit with her again.’ I felt very blessed to have that dream.”
Sacred Feminine
TheSacred Feminine is the energy innate in us and in the universe that serves life itself. The qualities of unconditional love, compassion, wisdom, beauty, gentleness, patience, accepting, forgiving, nurturing, welcoming, accessible, kind, intuitive and healing are carried by theSacred Feminine.
God is neither male nor female and is beyond form and duality. As humans we need to name and give form to an abstract concept so that we can connect to it at our level of awareness. The Divine Essence has become a Father God figure elevated over Mother God, where man is valued over woman. The time has come to balance the male and female energies within ourselves and in our belief systems by honoring theSacred Feminine.
The religions of the world have different beliefs, ideologies, and rituals. In looking at what religions have in common it is the intention oflove, compassion and kindness to all living things. These qualities are of theSacred Feminine.
TheSacred Feminine is a powerful essence that gives both strength and fluidity to religions, to us human beings and to all of life. Gratitude fills me in knowing that Mother Mary, just as my biological mother who has passed on,ispresent for me. Both mothers, give me strength and comfort as I face life’s challenges on my spiritual path of devotion.
