Express our creativity by first acknowledging that we are Divine beings of love and light. The Goddess is within us whether we are woman or man. That natural vibration of the Sacred Feminine is creativity itself.
So many of my clients feel that they are not creative at all. Yes you are creative! Simply giving ourselves permission to express our creativity opens the door to that process.
It does not matter what medium you use to express our creativity.Let’s just do it! Express self through writing, collage, water color, interior decorating, gardening, dancing, acting, singing, storytelling and baby making.
Obstacles to Creativity
Blessed with many artist friends who create beautiful art, I have been able to discover my obstacles to creativity. By observing what comes up for me when these artists encourage me to create I have been able to see the root of the obstacles to creativity for me.
One of my obstacles to creativity was the fear that I wasn’t good enough. Here I am surrounded by very talented artists who naturally created daily. I was comparing myself to them which blocked my creative flow. I needed to be loving, nurturing, accepting and patient with myself as my friends are with me.
Then I started to paint with water colors as my friends suggested. More fear came up about my art being judged as inexperienced and not up to par. They were not judging me, I was judging me. Self judgement was another one of myobstacles to creativity.
“Just Play”
“Just play” were the words my friend Chris said to me that set me free to be the creative being that I am. The big kid in me loves to play. In doing so I let go of my own limiting thoughts.
So simple yet so profound were her words of encouragement. “Just play.” It is about being in the moment with no thoughts therefore nothing holding me back, practicing self love.
“Just play.” Open the door, the windows, open the floodgates and be our creative selves. Now I am most joyful when I am being creative whether it is writing, drumming, making a collage or creating a sacred space. It connects me to the Sacred Feminine within.
The result of opening to my creative flow has been the creation of my beautiful meditation CD Collaboration in Spirit, several Angel Collages and my Angel Message Greeting Cards.Express our creativity as the Divine beings that we are. It is our birthright that fulfills us in the moment. So let’s just play!
